What we collect when you use ResumeDraft, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
ResumeDraft ("we," "us," "our") operates draft-resume.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
- Account information: name and email address associated with your sign-in (for example via Google through our auth provider).
- Resume content: the resume text and job descriptions you paste or upload, and your answers to our interview questions.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Polar — we do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
- Usage data: basic analytics (pages visited, features used) via Google Analytics to improve the product.
3. How we use it
- To generate your tailored resume and cover letter content.
- To operate your account (login, plan entitlements, billing history).
- To improve our AI prompts and product features — only using aggregated or anonymized data, never sharing your specific resume content with anyone outside the processing needed to serve you.
- To send you service-related emails (receipts, account notices). We do not send marketing email unless you opt in.
4. What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal data or resume content to third parties.
- We do not use your resume content to train AI models outside of what's needed to generate your own output, unless you explicitly opt in to a "help us improve" program (and even then, anonymized).
- We do not share your data with employers, recruiters, or job boards without your action (e.g. you choose to export/apply).
5. How long we keep your data
- Resume drafts and tailoring history are retained while your account is active so you can return to your work.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@draft-resume.com. We will process deletion requests promptly.
6. Third-party services we use
- AI processing: We send resume text and job descriptions to model providers via OpenRouter to generate tailored content. See OpenRouter's privacy policy for how they handle data in transit to upstream models.
- Payments: Polar (polar.sh)
- Analytics: Google Analytics
- Authentication: Neon Auth (sign-in providers such as Google)
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses at any time
To exercise any of these, contact us at support@draft-resume.com.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; keep your sign-in provider account secure as well.
9. Children's privacy
ResumeDraft is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and notify active users by email for material changes.
